Aston Martin confirms new Vantage GT3 for Le Mans 2024

New Vantage GT3 and GT4 racers confirmed for 2024, based on the next Vantage road car

Aston Martin has confirmed the first details of its new forthcoming Vantage GT3 and GT4 race cars, which will make their competitive debuts in 2024. Set to be an evolution of the existing racer, the model has already entered the final phase of testing ahead of its first competitive outing.

Based on the forthcoming new Vantage road car, scheduled to be revealed in Q1 2024, both new Vantage racers will be developed by Aston Martin Racing, who are also developing and building the company’s new Valkyrie Hypercar that will join the World Endurance Championship and IMSA series in 2025. While its final design remains under wraps for now, these images provide our very first glimpse at the model's design.

Due to current regulations the new Vantage GT3 will be powered by a further development of the current race car’s 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. The new Vantage GT4, however, will be powered by the updated powertrain that Aston Martin will introduce in its new road car in 2024. Current GT3 cars produce between 500-600bhp and weigh between 1200-1300kg.

Following 19 class wins at Le Mans, Aston Martin Racing is hopeful its new GT race cars will continue its success in endurance racing, when the new GT3 category replaces the GTE category from 2024. But it will be up against tough competition, from Ferrari and Porsche’s proven 296 GT3 and GT3 R
